Why does my coffee product not have an expiry or roast date?

Our shelf life testing program has determined that the shelf life of vacuum packed ground coffee is 30 months. The Australia & New Zealand Food Standards Code (Standard 1.2.5 clause 2) doesn’t require a best before date on products with a shelf life greater than 2 years, which is why it’s not displayed on these products.

If there are any quality issues we can refer back to our retention samples of that particular batch number which is more accurate than a date.
